Around
the World by phone
in less than 1 second,
for FREE
Well, I finally used
Skype this month after
hearing about it for
months. What is Skype?
Free phone over internet.
I paid $10 for a microphone
from radio shack that
plugs directly into
my laptop. After that,
I downloaded the software
from skype.com,
then installed and
tested it. It worked!
I then sent a co-worker
off to Guatemala (she's
adopting a child from
there) and it worked
unbelievably easy
and clearly! In contrast
to the FREE part,
we paid .02 cents
a minute so we could
talk to her on a land-line
(office mounted phone
) instead of computer
to computer. I highly
recommend the service.
Go to the Skype
site and let
me know if you
have any questions
about my Skype experience.
Also, check
out Netgear's Wi-Fi
Skype phone. It's
brand new so I haven't
had time to test it,
but it looks pretty
cool. |

Q:
Where can I find local
bands online?
A: Give me a couple
of months and you'll
see a new "Local
Artist Directory"
on STAR93FM.com. The
only way you'll be
able to add an artist
or band to our website
is with a Star-ID
which is created when
you register for an
account in our new
members area scheduled
to launch at the end
of April... now this
isn't a run-on sentence
cause I put a few
dots in there, right?
:)
Anyway, once the local
artist directory is
online, you'll be
able to search local
bands by artist, genre,
tempo, and more. Are
you a local or national
artist wanting exposure
on STAR93FM.com? Send
me an email and let
me know what features
you'd like to see
added to the local
artist directory.
Also, send me any
other suggestions
while the local artist
directory is still
in the planning phase.
Just click
here to email me. |

Fly
From Jackson To Hong
Kong in 15 Seconds
Google's "Google
Earth" desktop
is the greatest thing
since sliced bread
in my opinion. I was
turned on to it about
a year ago and have
only used MapQuest!
Maps once since then.
Heck, I even forgot
Yahoo! Maps still
existed until a week
ago. WARNING!!! Google
Earth is like High
Speed Internet. Once
you get used to high
speed internet, you
couldn't imagine going
back to dial-up. Well...
once you get used
to Google Earth, it's
impossible to imaging
anything less. BTW
- It really does take
15 seconds to fly
from Jackson to Hong
Kong. Try it yourself.

Q:
Where can I watch
Christian Music Videos?
A: Well, that all
depends on your taste
for music: rock, pop,
old school, etc. SkyAngel
carries a couple of
channels including
Spirit Television
(AC format) &
TVU which is great
for urban/modern rock
and whose programming
is similar in format
to the original MTV
(all music videos
all the time instead
of non-music &
reality shows). As
for Jackson area basic
cable, you can watch
various Saturday night
music shows on Family
Network, PAX, INSP
& TBN. A favorite
of mine is "One
Cubed". If
I remember right,
it comes on Family
Network around 10
or 11p Saturday night.

It's rare that I am impressed
by a website since I look at 'em
all day every day, but kutless.com
has the spunk that kuts through
the norm. Did I mention kutless
is number one on this week's Top
20 Meltdown.
To
Catch a Predator III
Scary... yes; especially
for parents. But you
must be informed as
to what your kids
are up against on
the internet. Be sure
to watch this series
on MSNBC and learn
how to protect your
child from cyber predators.
